Taunton Round Table is thrilled to announce that their recent fundraising evening, held on Friday, 31st October 2025 at Taunton School, raised an incredible Β£19,000.
The event, sponsored by Misted Langdon, featured an entertaining speech from former international rugby union referee Nigel Owens MBE. The evening was attended by local supporters and community members who came together to raise vital funds for Love Musgrove and the ongoing work of Taunton Round Table.
Of the total funds raised, 75% will be donated to Love Musgrove, helping fund new projects, buildings and equipment. The remaining 25% will support Taunton Round Table’s own community-focused initiatives.
Chairman of Taunton Round Table, Andrew Milsted, expressed his gratitude and delight at the event’s success:
“We are absolutely overjoyed with the outcome of our fundraising evening. To raise Β£19,000 is a testament to the generosity of our community and the dedication of everyone involved. Love Musgrove provide an invaluable service, and we are proud to support their vital work. Iβd also like to thank Nigel Owens for his inspiring contribution and everyone who came along to make the night so special.”
This milestone underscores Taunton Round Table’s commitment to making a positive difference in the local community.
With special thanks to headline sponsor, Milsted Langdon, supporting sponsors, South West Nissan Wellington, Porter Dodson and Stephens Scown, auctioneer Nick Girone-Maddocks of Gibbins Richards, and everyone who supported the night by giving so generously.

About Taunton Round Table
Taunton Round Table is a voluntary organisation for men aged 18-45, dedicated to making a difference through charitable events and initiatives that support local causes.
About Love Musgrove
Love Musgrove is Musgrove Park Hospital’s official charity. They raise money to fund new projects, buildings and equipment that make a difference for patients.
Some of our social events really do stand out. Last night On Your Bike – Taunton gave us a two-hour bike maintenance workshop.
The quality, professionalism, knowledge and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. What they don’t know about bikes really isn’t worth knowing!
By the end we were racing to see who could change a back tyre the quickest. Got it down to 7-minutes which wasn’t bad for a bunch of first-timers!
Did you know that they are a charity? Well-worth a visit if you ever need help with purchasing or maintaining your bike. Special thanks to Dereck (DC) and Shaun who made it a fantastic experience. Thank you for the goody bag!

Each year we auction a day of our members’ labour at our annual Speaker Evening event. After fetching Β£300 for the Lot at our 2024 event, the winner briefly mentioned he would have some brambles and branches to clear in Spring 2025.
Armed with rusty gardening tools and some questionable gloves, eight of us arrived only to look upon a small forrest. Undeterred by what lay ahead, we lathered on the sun lotion and bug spray.
Pictured below is a selection of images from the day (Saturday 10th May, 2025). Needless to say, a great time was had by all… followed by a refreshing and very well-deserved pint!!
Interested in bidding on this great-value Lot next year? Keep an eye on our upcoming Speaker Evening event!
Last Friday (4th April) we were thrilled to receive a Certificate of Thanks from Taunton Town Council.
The award was given in recognition of our support and commitment to the local community. Needless to say, it was received with gratitude!

It was a somewhat monumental defeat as we competed against 41 Club at Hollywood Bowl yesterday evening.
We entered the game confidently after securing a win against them in darts earlier this year. Despite the strong arms of younger Tabler’s – the accuracy and experience of 41 Club prevailed.
A few words of advice: avoid bowling against anyone named “Mike the Strike”.
It’s one a piece for now. We shall take the victory next time!
Paddle boarding, kayaking, several heated races, a towering inferno, and a BBQ. What better way to spend a summer evening?!
A memorable evening yesterday as we learned to paddle board along Bridgwater and Taunton Canal. A big “thank you” to Somerset Adventures for their guidance (and patience!).
Followed by a fantastic BBQ in the evening (courtesy of the Brown’s – thank you). Towering inferno below!
Let us not get caught up in who scored what. It was a fantastic evening as members of Taunton Round Table tried their hand at pitch & putt.
A wide range of ability was observed throughout the evening. Of course, we welcome all skill levels!
Special thanks to Swingrite Golf Centre who welcomed us yesterday evening, somewhat near to closing time.
π¦ We look forward to welcoming families at the T-Rex race tomorrow. Join us as we raise funds through a fun action-packed day out π¦
πΈ Our dinosaurs have been specially trained on flash photography – so come have a picture with us!

Last Friday (9th February) we were pleased to be joined by circa. 100 Tabler’s / ex-Tabler’s at our 85th Charter Night.
Guests travelled from across the country to be with us as we celebrated 85 years of Taunton Round Table 140. It was fantastic to have ex-members of Gripsholm Round Table 140 (Sweden) join us for the weekend too.
The evening began with a welcome from Master of Ceremonies, Alistair Tudor (thank you for hosting). Our President, Harley Brown, recited the Aims and Objects of Round Table. Andrew Worsdale, Chairman of Taunton Round Table, gave a speech on our charity work and fellowship. National President of Round Table Britain and Ireland (RTBI), Christopher Bush, discussed the wider impact of Table.
Many past Chairman of Taunton Round Table attended, dating as far back as the Chairman of 1977 (Rikki Batts). Last month we officially joined Area 19 – it was great to have Chairman Matt Watts give support and join us for the evening. Special thanks goes to Ephraim Angus for organising the event.
We are looking forward to a jam-packed year of events and fundraising!
Below are several pictures from the event.

This week we express our thanks to The Sangha House founders, Denise and Andy Spragg, for patiently teaching us how to look after our nails π !
Pictured above is our Chairman (and avid nail care enthusiast), Andrew, receiving a lick of paint. During the session we learned about nail hygiene, general maintenance, and how to add colour.
While not typical of our Tuesday evening… we will certainly do it again in the future!
